Dr. Angela Leung is Director of the Centre for Gerontological Nursing (CGN) / Leader of research theme ‘Aging and Health’, Associate Professor of the School of Nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She was the awardee of the Hartford Geriatric Scholars Program at the Johns Hopkins University in 2014. She is an active researcher in health literacy, health promotion, and chronic care, with a wide range of publications in international journals. Her key interest is to reduce health disparity in aging population and caregivers. She developed various interventions addressing the issues of inadequate health literacy and challenges encountered in chronic care. She has a strong belief that technology can help in chronic care and health promotion. Her recent innovations include: a mobile application for assessing diabetic risk and promoting lifestyle modification (which has been used by 13,000 people by now) and an app for supporting caregivers of persons with dementia.

Name: Ma. Carmen C. Tolabing

Dr. Ma. Carmen C. Tolabing is Professor of Epidemiology at the University of the Philippines Manila(UPM). She obtained her BS Public Health, Master of Public Health (Epidemiology) and Doctor of Public Health (Epidemiology) degrees from the University of the Philippines Manilla. She has attended training courses on Epidemiologic Evaluation of Vaccines (London School of Hygeine and Tropical Medicine) , Epidemiology of  Health Care Management, Program Evaluation, and basic and advanced courses in Research Ethics. Dr. Tolabing is a associate member of the National Research Council of the Philippines,  National Ethics Committee, and the  Asian Health Literacy Association. Since 2007, Dr. Tolabing has been a consultant of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) for its institutional research training and development programs as well as for technical evaluation of research proposals for funding and research reports of funded researches. She has served as peer reviewer of the Joint Health Research Call of the  Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) and the Medical Research Council-United Kingdom (MRC) and is a peer reviewer of the ACTA Medica Phillipina journal.
