The ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University successfully conducted a study tour on “Health Literacy” for government officers from Health Literacy Promotion Unit Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health and Sports, Myanmar on 12 – 15 December 2017.
The objectives of this study tour are: 1) to get international experiences concerning with health literacy; 2) to observe the community based health promotion activities; and 3) to apply knowledge and experiences with Myanmar context.
The training combined lectures, discussions, and study visits to the Muaklek Hospital and Saraburi Regional Hospital in Saraburi Province, Thailand. In addition, the participants also had an opportunity to visit a family care cluster and organic farms in Saraburi Province. At the end of the program, participants presented their study outcomes and roadmap.
