Dear Members of the Asian Health Literacy Association, advisors, country office representatives, and friends,
I like to take this opportunity to send my best wishes for a successful and healthy new year 2023.
The AHLA has successfully organized eight international conferences since 2013. In the 7th AHLA in Thu Duc City in Vietnam, we did not expect the Covid-19 would have hit all of us so seriously. Since the Covid-19 in early 2020, we were Unable to organize the AHLA Conference in Edah Hospital in 2020, and almost missed the First Global Health Literacy Summit in 2021. With all of your support, the AHLA finally could rejoin for the 8th AHLA in Oct. 2022. Now we agree to the proposal by Thailand Khon Kaen University to organize the 9th AHLA in May of 2023. I like to share the conference information for your attention https://www.ahla-asia.org/news_detail/172.htm .
As one of the founders, the 1st Secretary General from 2014 to 2019, and the former president of the AHLA , I am pleased to have the new AHLA president by Prof. Angela Leung, and the vice president Dr. Duong Van Tuyen, also the president-elect, vice president Dr. Wongsa Laohasiriwong, and vice president Dr. Ruyi Huang to lead the AHLA from 2023 to the end of 2024. I believe the AHLA, under their new leadership, will demonstrate new visions, directions, actions, and achievements. I am pleased to stay as the honorary president of the AHLA to support the AHLA, and also to continue my commitments to promote global health literacy research and practices.
I look forward to working with you, to see you in the coming 9thAHLA in Thailand, for the 10th Anniversary of the AHLA , and to meet you in person in other occasions very soon in the future.
Most sincerely,
(signed)
